The Std Class Seat Test Pilots

Rocky

I fly allsorts of kites from most popular manufactures ranging from a small Flexifoil Sting up to a 13m Flysurfer Psycho 2. Fav at the moment has to be the Flexi 8.5 blade IV
I’m a freestyle buggier who also dabbles in land boarding and Swatk fun racing.
I have been flying kites on and off for a very long time but have been into traction for about 4 years. Last year I qualified as a BKSA Buggy and Landboard powerkite instructor through SWATK.
I fly mainly at Westward Ho! Gwithian and Staddiscombe near Plymouth. The perfect days kiting for me is a chilled out session on the beach with my PKC or SWATK buddies flying my 8.5 Blade IV riding my Flexi buggy.

I got my first powerkite way back in 2000 and quickly got on a board.
Bought a buggy and some bigger kites and ditched the board as I felt so much more 'at one' with the buggy. Self-taught from day one I gradually developed the love for beach cruising, then quickly moved onto flatland freestyle. Changed kites many many times over the years but its always been fixed-power foils on handles for me. After swearing I'd never do it I got into buggy jumping two years ago and have been honing my skills in that field. I love the thrill and buzz from jumping but always combine a session with a mixture of flatland freestyle. I like to play out a ground routine with jumps included.
Currently flying all Blades, of which I have a full quiver. My favourites are the big guns 6.6 and 8.5 which you'll usually find me on, but the 4.9 gets used occasionally, as does the 4. I've owned several types of buggy over the years, but for me it HAS to be the flexibug with the buggybags seat - nothing else will do.
